Vadumvej
No. 21 “Strømhuset” matr. 1.e 23c 24d 25d 31f
is located between the road to Vadum, and the fjord, just north of the stream that comes from Spøttrup Lake and goes into the fjord. (In ancient times, there was a watermill at Strømhuset, there was a good mill pond in Spøttrup Lake, but in 1825 the sea broke through at Agger. The sea water entered the fjord and destroyed the watermill.) The remark about the watermill is in doubt, it is Lavrs Lavrsen who mentions it, but no papers have been found that there has ever been a watermill here!!! The farm has fields on both sides of the road. East of the road is low-lying level clay soil. West of the road along the stream, the soil is low-lying and gravel. Northwest of the farm is good soil with high hills facing the fjord. The fjord takes a heavy toll on the hills as high tides erode the slopes, causing the surface to sink into the water and be washed away. Strømhuset is now owned by Peter Gudiksen (Lau.Laursen), There was an article in Skive Folkeblad in 1904 about haunting in Strømhuset, “Da konerne i Knud var hekse. The leasehold letters contain the following “reservation”: For the owners of Spøttrup Hovedgaard, such as Hunting and Fishing, the right to set up and use the eel chest, and to take marl in the so-called “Strømbakke” etc.
this “reservation” was not canceled until 1937!

Dagny Christiansen says that they got electricity in 1948. She remembers when they had kerosene lamps. In particular, she remembers that they saved on light and sat in the darkness and enjoyed the sight of the flames in the stove, how the light glimmered behind the marieglass in the stove door. She also says that the reason the electricity was installed back then was because Johannes Jensen had bought the property above theirs and couldn’t bear to be without electricity. She also says that Johannes Vad wanted to “cheat” and didn’t want electricity, so he thought he could let the others pay for the cable, the price for it had to be divided between the properties, and that he could then join later without paying for the cable, but that didn’t work. Kr. Churchwarden and Laura lived in no. 6, where tailor Karl Dahl had lived, they later moved to the house opposite the church. Dagny says that their well sometimes ran out of water, so they fetched water from Ais Stampmøller, who lived in a property north of Poul Villadsen’s, there was an old-fashioned “wind well” The property was gone then, there was only the well left.
