Jette Thomsen is a master painter in Skive, and an elder in Skive Malerlaug since 1997.
Thomsen trained as a painter in 1975, and after working on Zealand for a few years, she returned to her home region. In 1992, Thomsen became self-employed and has since run the company “Maler Jette”, since 2009 with her son Tom Thomsen as a partner.
In 1997, Thomsen was elected as an elder in the Skive painters’ guild at the age of 42. Thomsen became the first female alderman in both the Skive Painters’ Guild and the first female alderman in a painters’ guild in Denmark. Later, Thomsen would also become the first woman to join the main board of the Danish Association of Master Painters.
In addition to painting, Thomsen has held positions of trust as a board member of Skiveegnens erhvervs- og turistcenter, and in the board of representatives for Sallingbank.
