Skive Søsportshavn is a part of Skive Harbor where pleasure craft and sports associations are based.
In connection with the expansion of Skive harbor in 1960, which made two of the three yachting associations in Skive harbor homeless, there was a desire to create an actual marina in the city. This was further encouraged by the general economic growth in society, which resulted in significantly more sailboats being owned by private individuals.
From 1967, plans were set in motion as the increase in the number of boats resulted in many anchoring illegally, and there was a need for orderly conditions. They chose the beach north of Skive Harbor, called “Numsevaskeriet”. It was also hoped that the area would experience a major development with hotels and the like.
After several delays due to difficulties in getting the port built, the first jetty was ready on May 15, 1973 and the port could be used soon after.
Over time, there is a growing need for berths and the port is expanded several times over the years.
Different institutions at the harbor
