Folmer Andersen was mayor of Sallingsund municipality 1982-85, for a local political list.
Andersen was born in Silstrup. Around 1960, he moved to Glyngøre to work first in an office and then as operations manager at Glyngøre Fiskeindustri. In 1972, he became the auctioneer at Glyngøre Fish Auction, a position he held until his death.
In 1974, Andersen was elected to the municipal council in Sallingsund municipality for a local list from Glyngøre. In the election after Frode V. Søndergaard resigned, Andersen was elected mayor of the municipality in 1982. However, Andersen did not serve out his term as he died during a football match at a town festival in Durup.
Andersen was married to Ester Andersen with whom he had two daughters.
