Helga Tang was mayor and municipal council member in Sallingsund municipality for the Progress Party.
Tang was a member of the municipal council in Sallingsund in the period 1978-1998. As Tang was 1st Deputy Mayor when Folmer Andersen died in office, she took over as Mayor. However, Tang only served as mayor of the municipality for 20 days before disagreements in the council about whether it made the most sense for Tang to continue for the last 40 months led to the innocuous choice of Hans Jørgen Sørensen.
Helga Tang grew up in Nannerup and went to school in Jebjerg, she stayed in Salling all her life. In 1952 she married Aage Tang and moved to his farm in Rybjerg near Roslev.
