He came from Copenhagen in 1896 and went to Thisted, where he was a photographer in Vestergade (matr. nr. 319a) from 1896 to 1902.
From the end of 1902 he worked as a photographer in Skive, and had a studio in Asylgade 2, and later in Frederiksgade 3. He and his family probably lived from 1908 in Frederiksgade 3, on the first floor, with a shop on the ground floor.

In 1896 he married Mette Marie (unknown maiden surname), born May 21, 1873 in Hvam, and they had 4 children, 2 of whom died.

The daughter Karen Nielsine Birgitte Nielsen, born June 6, 1897, passes away in 1907, as the article in Skive Folkeblad December 21st alludes to:

In late January 1912, he also becomes an agent in Skive for the sale of cruise trips with the large cruise liners, for the Danish White Star Line general agent Joachim Prahl, who at this time has the ships Olympic and Titanic, the latter of which sank during the night between April 14 and April 15, 1912, just 3 months after the ad was placed.
