was built in 1896 on the site of Lorentzen’s property. A two-story building was erected with shops on the ground floor facing the street and living quarters on the 1st floor. In the courtyard, premises for a printing house were built. The building was designed by gasworks master Isidor von Essen.
1896 Skive Folkeblad in Nørregade 22
Skive Folkeblad was started in 1880, initially as an offshoot of Morsø Folkeblad, but from 1882 it was printed in Skive by Marius Jensen in a warehouse in Frederiksgade 7. In 1885, Marius Jensen bought Frederiksgade 11 and set up a printing house here. In the 1890s, Skive Folkeblad was the region’s leading newspaper. New facilities were needed and Marius Jensen bought Lorentzen’s property at Nørregade 22, which he demolished and instead the business property located next to the street was built with a printing house in a long courtyard.
The premises were bright and airy with new machines and a gas engine installed to drive the printing machine, and it was busy from early morning to late evening to get the morning paper out throughout Salling.
Skive Folkeblad was sold to Garantselskabet in 1906. To gain more space, the newspaper moved to rented premises in Torvegade 7 on November 1, 1908.
1909 Jacobsen and Sørensen, master carpenters
In 1909, master carpenter Johs. Jacobsen moved into the printing premises. He ran the cabinetmaking business alone until 1911, when he went into partnership with master carpenter Vald. Sørensen. In 1915, Johs. Jacobsen bought the neighboring property Nørregade 24, demolished the front building and built“Sallinghus” where he moved his workshop and furniture outlet. In 1930, Johs. Jacobsen built the amusement establishment “Kilden” on the corner of Nordbanevej and Ågade.
1916 Bøjle Hansen’s printing house – Centraltrykkeriet
26. in October 1916, printer Bøjle Hansen took over the old printing premises and from November 1, 1916, Skive Socialdemokrat had offices and editorial offices in the front building.
Bøjle Hansen was born in Skive in 1873, was a trained typographer and had been on the roller. In 1907, he opened a print shop in his father, chimney sweep Hansen’s property, Thinggade 19. Hansen was to print the local edition of Skive Socialdemokrat, which was an offshoot of Demokraten Århus. With the small circulation of Skive Socialdemokrat, it was not enough to keep the print shop going and Bøjle Hansen also ran a commercial printer. They printed accounts, “laws, party songs, announcements, envelopes, bills, forms, minutes, funeral hymns.”
In 1922, the printing of Skive Socialdemokrat was transferred to A. C. Schous Bogtrykkeri, Voldgade 9. Until 1926, Centraltrykkeriet continued with “large and small printed matter of all kinds”.

1926 Skive Venstreblad
Skive Venstreblad was started in 1919 when a group of leftists felt increasingly homeless with their old “left-wing newspaper” Skive Folkeblad, which had drifted more and more towards Det radikale Venstre. Skive Venstreblad started as an offshoot of Randers Venstreblad and was printed in Randers, but this slowed down news dissemination. From 1920, the newspaper was printed at Lauritz Pedersens Bogtrykkeri on the corner of Østertorv and Brogårdsgade. In 1925/26, they managed to raise the money to buy Centraltrykkeriet from Bøjle Hansen.
Skive Venstreblad survived several crises, had even established a collaboration with the conservatives in Skive under the name Skive Dagblad from 1966 and was published until 1968 from the printing house in Skive. 1. in June 1968, the newspaper became an offshoot of Viborg Stifts Folkeblad, and newspaper production at Nørregade 22 was definitely over.
1968 Centraltrykkeriet was resurrected
Initially, the shareholders behind the newspaper operation continued to run the print shop under the name Centraltrykkeriet. In 1970, Harry Frederiksen, who had been a factor at the newspaper since 1957, took over the printing company. In 1977, Hans Høpfner Laursen, who had been at the print shop since 1946, took over the print shop. Under his leadership, the print shop was converted to off-set printing and eventually needed more space. In 1992, Centraltrykkeriet moved to a new building at Katkjærvej 10.
The company closed in 2015.
