Harry Borup Jensen (1912-1989)

Harry Borup Jensen was the owner of the craft shop“Borup Jensen” in Skive.

Borup Jensen was the son of merchant P.C. Jensen and Marie Borup Jensen.

Borup Jensen was apprenticed to Axel Dahl in Adelgade, and after completing his apprenticeship, he first worked outside Skive. In 1937 he had the opportunity to start his own business in Olesengård on Adelgade 1, where he opened the shop “Borup Jensen”.

He ran the business until 1967, when it was decided that Olsens Gård would be demolished. In connection with the demolition, the business was moved to Frederiksgade 3. In 1979, Borup Jensen retired from the business and left it to his son Erik Borup Jensen.

In addition to working in the store, Borup Jensen was chairman of the Skive Textile Merchants’ Association from 1941-1971, on the board of the textile merchants’ purchasing association. From 1944 to 1971 he was a member of the board of Skive Handelsstandsforeningen, including chairman for 2 years from 1970 to 1971. In addition, Borup Jensen was a trustee of Skive Handelsskole.

Married to Ulla Borup Jensen and had three children.
